This page cover Organizational Theories listed in the Theory Clusters site at the University of Twente. I have attached a file for summary explanations of each theory and provided available videos for some of them. For detailed explanations of each theory, you can simply click on the name of the theory you desire to review in details.

Attraction-Selection-Attrition [ASA]
According to Schneider (1987): “The people make the place.” Schneider argues that: |
a. organizational culture, climate and practices are determined by the people in the
organization.
b.new members in organizations according fit in a specific organization [This theory is
closely related to psychology and is part of the socialization process]
c. Psychologists failed to incorporate people types into the theories of organizations
as they focus more on the influence of variables such as: groups, technology,
structure, environment
Schneider and cohorts in 1995 added the dimension that “people are responsible for the structure, processes and culture of the organization.”
According to the Oxford Reference Attraction-Selection-Attrition theory holds that:
1.individuals are attracted to organizations whose members are similar to themselves in terms of personality, values, interests, and other attributes;
2.organizations are more likely to select those who possess knowledge, skills, and abilities similar to the ones their existing members possess; and
3.over time, those who do not fit in well are more likely to leave.
4.owing to these three factors, the personal characteristics of those who work for an organization are likely to become more similar over time, leading to the consolidation of organizational culture.
